She rises slowly, fixated on the building across.

"…Well," a hint of a fanged smile, "That's bad timing."

A thug vaults from a fire escape.

A flick of her wrist!

*CRACK*

The batarang ricochets and three enemies drop.

300 points as they all dissolve into glowing pixls.

"…Efficient..."

She turns to the Cambot hovering above.

"A tournament, is it? Fate of the world… the usual?"

She steps forward—HEROICALLY.

"I’ve saved a world or two before."

Rain pours as lightning flashes.

"It never really matters what the threat looks like.

Alien invasion. Masked lunatic. End-of-the-world countdown..."

She places a hand over her chest.

No heartbeat...

…but she doesn’t need one.

"Someone’s in danger?"

Her fanged smile returns, warm in its own way.

"Then you can count on the Atomic Bat!

Doesn’t matter if I’m outnumbered.

Doesn’t even matter if I don’t make it back.

You don’t do this job because it’s easy.

Or because it pays...

Trust me… it doesn’t."

Her tone softens slightly.

"You do it because it’s right."

Her eyes burn with quiet resolve.

"Whatever this world throws at me.

She tilts her head, amused.

"It picked the wrong city.

Someone still has to stand between the world and whatever evil is trying to tear it apart.

That’s where I’ve always been.

That’s where I’ll continue to be.

I don’t need perfect odds.

I don’t need backup.

Because I don’t stop when it gets dangerous.

Or when it stops being fair.

You can walk away.

I won’t.

I’ll still be here.

Still standing in the way.

Because as long as something evil thinks it gets to win…
