Deep Dish - SolemnIncline - 09-01-2026

This is it. My last chance to make strides before Red Dead Relentless in El Paso. Technically I’m undefeated in August, though I feel nothing beating someone who doesn’t try. It’s weird. Seems like Edgecrusher gets off on losing or something.

So I guess this match is more of a challenge. Let’s see. New guy, Kenny Styles, Tommy whom I’ve beaten and finally, Summer, who beat me to win the Revolution title. Now that was an odd situation. I won a four-way to earn a shot at the Rev title. It should have just been me and Betsy for the belt. Not saying I would have won, but hey, Summer beat Oz to be part of that match. She earned her spot. To be honest, I was actually happy for her, despite the loss. She had been chasing it for so long. Too bad she lost it immediately.

But that’s the level of competition here. You can’t afford to not take your opponents seriously. In a year and a half here, it’s been a mixed bag. I plan to be there in Texas. I don’t know what that looks like, but first, I’ve got business to attend to in Chicago.

Let’s start with the wild card. The new kid, Kenny. He won his debut match last Anarchy. He’s young, cocky. All he seems to care about is high spots. He’s a moment maker. Well, there’s more than one way to make a moment, Kenny. Getting dropped with Dust to Dust through a table? Now that would be a moment. Just ask Tommy.

Speaking of Tommy, I can’t wait to run it back with him here. He was my first defense of the X-Treme title when I won it the first time. I had just pinned Dickie Watson a few days prior and it was right around my birthday. I got drunk with Blizzard and stumbled out of a bar and managed to become a champion. I’ve been sober for a while now. Just think of what I can do now that my mind is clear! Tommy took me to the limit in that match, but ultimately I put him through a table off the top rope on the outside of the ring. Whole thing exploded. Nearly died. It was fun. Tommy even shook my hand afterward. He was a late addition to this match, but I welcome the challenge. Let’s see if he steps up. I know I will.

Last, but certainly not least, we have ‘Spoiled’ Summer Page. The last time we faced, I nearly had you. Leap of Faith. Triple Threat. I dodged Pure Perfection. I had you up for Dust to Dust and you escaped. You caught me on the chin with TKO and that was it. Betsy almost stopped the pin but I was cooked. The time before that, you were eliminated by Oz. Technically, I beat you, but I wasn’t involved in the elimination itself. Guess I owe you two receipts. I’ve been itching for a fight for over a month now and beating MC EC without breaking a sweat hasn’t scratched it. So it’s my momentum versus your…whatever it is you’re doing now that you’re no longer Revolution champion and I’m betting on myself here.

Solomon and his girlfriend Tyler are eating at a local pizza parlor before the show in Chicago. Which one? Not a chance, we gatekeeping it. They ordered a classic Chicago style deep dish pepperoni and a salad.
“This is delicious!” Solomon declares with a mouth full of za.

“It really is!” Adds Tyler, as she shovels lettuce into her mouth. “Who did you say recommended this place, again?”

“Oz, believe it or not.” He says. “He’s local, you know.”

“Oh yeah, I think he’s mentioned it a time or two in his promos.” She recalls.

He takes a sip of his Athletic Brewing NA beer.

“Man, I can’t believe we’re about to be at Relentless again. Seems like not that long ago I was heading into a tag title match at last year’s event.”

“Don’t remind me.” She answers as she takes a sip of her peach White Claw.

He sets down his slice. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

She just glares at him.

He insists she elaborate.

“You were a nightmare. All this Psycho stuff. You went AWOL on us after you lost to the Exiles. You were getting fucked up every night with Aidan and when he left, it got even worse. I thought about leaving.”

His tone softens. “You did?”

“Yeah. I did. I know people like to say wrestling is…you know, the F word, but man, it was like someone took out your mom all over again. It wasn’t a gimmick. I was scared.”

The realization hits him like a ton of bricks. He doesn’t speak right away and just chooses to listen.

“It went on for months. You started hanging out with Charlie Nickles in the Corporation and you were absolutely insufferable. The only silver lining is that I could get you to turn it off every once in a while and just relax. That injury was the best thing to happen to you.”

She gestures over to his drink with a nod. “You may have gotten sober, but you acted like the world owed you everything. You were so miserable and I could tell the resentment came from a real place, but man, if I hadn’t begged you to go to therapy, I’d have left a long time ago.”

“Damn.” Is all he could say. “Thank you for sharing how it affected you. I know the words don’t mean much without action, but I’m truly sorry. I love you and I promise that whatever happens, I won’t let wrestling affect me like that again.”

“It’s ok, Sol.” She says. “Just please, don’t make promises you can’t keep. That might be worse. I love you. I’m sure you’ll do great things…but you have value without merits. Remember that.”

Now he had more to chew.
